Editorial Reviews:

These children are home alone, too. But their parents won't be coming back.

Summary: "Final"? I Don't Think So.
Comment: Won't anyone think of the corn?

That seems to be the plot of CHILDREN OF THE CORN II, a movie that claims to be THE FINAL SACRIFICE, this in spite of being succeeded by many, many sequels. The first film was no great shakes, and inspires the question: how long does it take for people to forget how bad a film was?

In this case, 8 years.

In 1984, the original film bored theatre audiences, and then, in 1992, this weird and pointless follow-up was made, re-introducing the world to He Who Walks Behind The Rows. What is up with this deity? No one ever sees it (aside from the bulging ground that accompanies its movements). If this movie is any indication, HWWBTR has some kind of severe color blindness, and an intense hatred of both adults and corn mold.

In the first movie, this unlikely creature inspired a prophet by the name of Issac, a suitably creepy kid. This time around the "propeht" is Micah, a kid whose uncanny resemblance to Keannu Reeves is the most interesting thing about the film. Okay, well, that and a church scene involving a wooden voodoo doll (the movie's only legitimately creepy moment).

Micah whips the local kids into a frenzy by yelling about people who have defiled the corn. They set fire to churches and drop houses on old women (who cry out, a la The Wizard of Oz, "What a world!" Is this supposed to be a parody?) and are generally creeptastic. Here to thwart them are Garrett, a beefy tabloid reporter, and his smug and sullen son, Danny. Oh, and lest I forget, Professor Red Bear, a Native American Anthropologist who steals wallets from cars and knows far less than he lets on.

The demon (god? critter?) is given more of a motive this time around, but it only muddles up a movie that is already lacking focus or energy. There are a few interesting special effects moments, but mostly the movie is as annoying as a bunch of prepubescent kids running around screeching, "The corn! The corn! No one cares about the corn!"

Someone get these kids some Doritos, for crying out loud.

Summary: Most computer technique CotC
Comment: I think that this was weird that this was a Paramount movie and the tag line said Dimension Diversion On Miramax Films. This was 1993 movie, DVD Release 1993 94 minutes long ( very rare ). Region 2 didn't have near good effects. Micahs Transformation wasn't on R.2, when Micah gets hit by eletric bolt he screams and on R.2 he doesn't, then his voice gets real deep at the end not on R.2, then when the face appears on Micah his face changes shape before the devil appears. The Top Ten New Mdeia DVD doesn't have those effects. Different music was in different regions, the VHS had those effects to, and feel free to comment and ask me questions about this CotC movie. I know every single thing on this movie. This is another CotC review, i write reviews on all of the CotC movies but in a mixed-up order. I like CotC 2 but not as much as for. I know deleted scenes in all children of the corn movies. Just comment and ask on any of the seven. I especially know CotC 5 Fields of Terror.

Summary: Sucks
Comment: This movie sucks so bad. The deaths were terrible (as in boring). The moving mound in CCOTC1 returns but you still dont see what the monster looks like!!!!! Most of the kids die at the end due to weopon backfiring, the music is five star, i would recomend the soundtrack. Save your money, dont by this movie.

Summary: A REALLY "CORNY" MOVIE
Comment: They say that this sequel surpassed it's original. From watching this movie that aint achieving much! All the kids talk about is the "corn". They only good things about the movie are Lacy and Angela. they are damn HOT! One of them even has a sex scene.

Summary: Genius!
Comment: God, I love this kind of stuff. Basically, Children of the Corn II is cheap, gory, and loads of fun. It's also well-made, too... the effects are pretty good (not anything amazing but they more then get the job done). This film contains buckets of blood, gotta love that nose-bleed scene! 'Final Sacrifice' also contains a great score by Daniel Licht and has a fairly morbid sense of humor (What a World!). Overall, the complete package for a great time at the movies... dripped in blood, of course.
